The prompt this week at Inspire Me Thursday is Fun and Games, and I've been agonizing over what to do for this challenge. Should I go with a board game theme? Maybe a favorite childhood game? No, all my favorite games were simply games of my imagination. Was there something that had always been fun for me, and was still fun? Well, there's art, and photography, and music... of course, music! Music has always been a part of my life, but became especially important at the age of eleven, when I received my first flute and instantly became obsessed. Everything about it was fun to me -- symphonic band, marching band, pit orchestra, and even competitions (and believe me, I was fiercely competitive!). I still play my flute, though not as often as I used to, and I still live in a house full of music, because my husband plays trumpet, tenor saxophone, flute, and guitar.
Pictured above is a photograph of my flute, resting on one of my favorite pieces of music, Chaminade's Concertino. I used a graphic pen filter in Photoshop to achieve the pen and ink effect.

TRULY SPECTACULAR!
I 'see' it as a large canvas transfer to hang on a beautiful wall surrounded by light and beauty. Would add such an element of serenity to a room. Fantastic!
Hey Cher...You and your creativity just knocks my socks off! I love that you used the photograph and photoshop to get the affect you wanted! So many creative outlets..and so many fun & games for you it was hard to choose, eh? What a dilemma:). It's wonderful that music was such an integral part of your life, and that you can honor that. I can hear melodies now...
Simple beautiful! -- Thank you for sharing your abundant gifts.
The love of music is truly a gift..to be able to play music is a talent...Bravo to you for having both of those and art! Wonderful piece...GOOD TO SEE YOU!!
Mmmmmmm...nice job arranging the photo & perfect filter choice, too. This has a really appealing texture to it. Can almost see it on some sort of cloth.
This is really stunning. I will HAVE to go and play with that filter now!

Ooo. Literal player :). That's good. I also think the choice of the graphic pen filter was a perfect for this.
This is great. I love that you can achieve such cool effects with photos and software. I think I'd make a diptych - one like this and the other the reverse and mostly black framed or mounted to canvas. Cool cool cool.
I am with Royce, this piece is spectacular. I love the way the graphic pen enhanced the beauty of the flute and notes of the sheet music. : D
This definitely belongs showcased on a wall. Beautiful!
should be framed - its a great work
Oh yes, the flute has a marvelous sound to it--great treatment to the photo here!
I had to stare at this a while before I figured out what it was (that's what I get for looking at the picture BEFORE reading the description)! Love the pen/ink effect!
This is FANTASTIC - LOVE it!! I would have no idea how to start doing this - any tips, as I would love to do this for my violin.
